      My favourite part of the hobby is creating immersive scale environments and building RC vehicles that look as good as they perform. I enjoy everything from micro crawlers and trail trucks to competition-inspired builds, but scale realism is where my passion really lies.

      The best part of the hobby, however, is sharing it with my dad, Ray - better known to our community as G-Dog. As the other co-founder of Reactive Terrain RC, he's been alongside me every step of the journey. The fun, laughter, friendly rivalry, and occasional disagreements over the "best" line bring a huge amount of enjoyment to both the hobby and the world of Reactive Terrain RC. I genuinely think our competitiveness and banter are a big part of what people enjoy watching.

      When I'm not building RCs, you'll usually find me designing new terrain, creating YouTube content, or dreaming up the next ridiculous project for the workshop. I love introducing new people to the hobby and showing that RC is about far more than just driving. It's about creativity, problem-solving, community, and building something unique.

      Fun fact: I'm also a lead singer and guitarist of a band called Brother Homebrew and love writing original songs.

      What first pulled you into modifying RC cars?

      For me, it was a combination of creativity and performance. I’ve always enjoyed taking something standard and turning it into something unique, whether that's improving how it looks, how it drives, or both. RC modification gives you endless opportunities to experiment, learn, and put your own stamp on a vehicle. No two builds ever end up exactly the same.

      What’s a build you’re especially proud of and why?

      Honestly, every build has its own purpose and story behind it. Some are designed to be highly capable crawlers, while others focus more on realism and scale appearance. What I enjoy most is the process of bringing an idea to life and seeing it evolve from a pile of parts into a finished vehicle. Each build teaches you something new and helps improve the next one.

      What’s the most frustrating or challenging moment you’ve had while building?

      Without a doubt... those tiny O-rings! Anyone who has spent time building RCs knows exactly what I mean. They always seem determined to disappear into another dimension at the exact moment you need them. It’s usually the smallest components that test your patience the most.

      What did it feel like the first time you drove an RC car you’d put a lot of work into?

      There’s a real sense of satisfaction when a build finally hits the ground for the first time. Years ago, I competed in the Kyosho Spider Cup, which involved a lot of tuning, setup work, and constant adjustments. Seeing all that effort translate into performance on track was incredibly rewarding. Even now, that first drive after a build is one of the best moments in the hobby.

      What are your top three tips for someone new to RC modding?

      First, focus on tyres and wheels, as they can completely transform how a vehicle performs. Second, pay attention to weight distribution rather than simply adding weight everywhere. Finally, keep things as light as possible, especially higher up on the vehicle. A well-balanced setup will often outperform a heavily modified one.

      What keeps you motivated when a build doesn’t go as planned?

      The challenge itself is part of the fun. Not every idea works first time, and some of the best builds come from solving problems along the way. I enjoy the process of refining and improving things until they work the way I imagined. There’s always another solution to try, and that’s what keeps me coming back.

      Where do you usually find inspiration for your builds?

      A lot of my inspiration comes from full-size vehicles and films. Real-world off-road vehicles, expedition rigs, and iconic automotive designs often spark ideas for new projects. Movies and fictional worlds can also be great sources of inspiration when creating themed builds or immersive terrain environments. I’m always looking at things and wondering how they could be recreated in scale.

      Have you ever brought one of your builds to a meetup, trail event, or competition? What did it feel like?

      Absolutely. One of the things I enjoy most is bringing unique builds to events and seeing people’s reactions. It’s a great conversation starter and often helps introduce new people to the hobby. Watching someone become interested because of something you’ve built is incredibly rewarding and helps grow the community.

      Is there anything you’d like to say to the Batrazzi community?

      I think Batrazzi has quickly established itself as one of the leading brands for FMS upgrades and aftermarket parts. It’s great to see companies investing in platforms that hobbyists are genuinely passionate about. Looking ahead, I’d love to see even more support for the FCX24M platform, including chassis options and performance upgrades like alternative axle design and performance servos. There’s a huge amount of creativity within that community, and it would be exciting to see Batrazzi continue developing products for it.
